OT-60

The motor yacht that feels like a sailing boat

The OT-60 expresses the conviction that progress is seen both in terms of the past and the future, and proposes a simpler vision of sustainability. The OT-60 heralds a return to the traditional seafaring style of the eastern Mediterranean. The perfect combination of the quiet, relaxed lifestyle of sailing and the comfort and space of a motor yacht makes the journey as enjoyable as the destination, with very low fuel consumption.

Design

The interior and exterior design by Lorenzo Argento(the most famous boat designer who has designed yachts from cruising yachts like BENETEAU to superyachts like Y-Yachts and OCEANCO) streamlines and rationalizes the reclaimed volumes, with a clean style by Ciarmoli Queda Studio. Large windows surround the deckhouse and offer an almost perfect 360-degree view as well as openings for natural ventilation. Due to the abundance of natural light, no reflective surfaces were required.

On the OT-60, the entire lower deck is not actually “below deck”. Going down the stairs, guests end up in a double-height open extension between the cabins, spacious enough to accommodate a galley and indoor dining area.
There are also two lower deck layouts available, each with three or four cabins, with each cabin having its own bathroom.

Efficiency

Compact, quiet and efficient engines power the OT60’s eco-cruise hull, which was customized by Juan Kouyoumdjian to improve the yacht’s seaworthiness and efficiency when island hopping in the Mediterranean. With the aim of cruising sustainably in every respect, the OT60 offers a considerable range – 1000 nautical miles at 8 knots – while consuming just 1.25 liters per mile.

Juan Kouyoumdjian
is one of the best hull designers in the world, specializing in low-drag, high-speed hulls. He has designed world champion sailboats for the Americas Cup, the Volvo Ocean Race and the Vendée Globe and is also the hull designer of the famous SWAN yachts.

Technology

The OT-60’s systems and engineering benefit from the extensive experience of Omikron’s technical office, which includes repairs and refits of yachts up to 100 meters and more, as well as custom supersailer builds. A special production line for the OT-60 was built at the shipyard, which includes the construction of the hull with vacuum infusion and superstructures made of carbon fiber, which makes the composite material in the upper parts of the ship up to a third lighter and increases stability. All woodwork and assembly work is carried out in-house.
The first-class facilities are ISO 9001:2015 certified. The OT-60 is CE category A-12 certified.
