How did your passion for sailing begin?

My passion for sailing began in childhood. I spent many holidays on boats in the Netherlands with my parents. When I was eight years old, I attended my first sailing camp on Lake Constance, and that's where the sailing bug truly bit me. Ever since then, my enthusiasm for life on the water and my fascination with extraordinary boats and yachts have stayed with me. 

What does sailing mean to you personally?

Sailing means freedom to me. It's the perfect combination of nature, technology, and adventure. Out on the water, I can switch off, enjoy time with friends and family, and at the same time experience the fascination of the wind and the elements. Every trip is different, and that's exactly what makes sailing so special to me.

What excites you about Lagoon catamarans specifically?

For me, Lagoon combines everything that defines a modern catamaran: outstanding quality, intelligent technology, elegant design, and the highest level of comfort. At the same time, the global service and dealer network, as well as the strong community of owners and sailing enthusiasts, convince me.

I would tell them it's a type of boat with two parallel hulls of equal size. They're known for being very stable, especially on the water, and they tend to sail faster than monohull boats. It's a unique and often very enjoyable sailing experience.

Just give it a try! A catamaran offers a completely different experience than many expect. The generous space, the open feeling, and the calm gliding over the water make every trip a special experience. Anyone who has been on a catamaran quickly understands why so many people love this type of sailing.

Is there a sailing area that is particularly close to your heart - and why would you recommend it to others?

Clearly Croatia. For me, it's one of the most beautiful sailing areas in Europe. The countless islands, hidden bays, and crystal-clear water make every day a new adventure. On top of that, there's the warm hospitality, excellent cuisine, and outstanding value for money. Croatia offers ideal conditions for every sailor for an unforgettable trip.
